Reflection: This poem is a collage made up of random google searches, come-ons, banner phrases from the internet and news blurbs that caught my eye (mostly about making, managing and spending money) and odd scraps from my personal universe. This poem has a certain momentum for me and rolls in like a comber littered with detritus of 2020. The poem ends with the invitation to join me (the me in my poems is usually the archetypal poet) and the clue to finding me is to look for a man wearing a stetson covered with buttons. That would be my alter ego. I have such a hat that I had just started wearing to a weekly jam at a local pub when covid hit, so now that hat is sitting in my office waiting for those jams to start up again when I can step into a more activist role, not just jamming but expressing myself in other ways at various venues.
