I've written for OpEdNews every since 2011, and I still submit articles. But in addition to news writing, I'm a screenwriter. My screenplay Wine Tasting recently placed as a finalist in the script competitions of three film festivals this year. The festivals are Sunscreen Film Festivals West, Evolution, Mallorca Film Festival, and Beverly Hills Film Festival. Wine Tasting is an indie drama following the lives of four men who are master sommeliers. Sommeliers are professional wine experts. These men are so knowledgeable about wines that by tasting wine they can identify what grapes went into it, what region the wines is from, what additives or other chemicals were used, what the wine fermented in, and what year. They work throughout the hospitality industry. Only a few men are knowledgeable enough and skilled enough to pass this exam, which is a massive investment of one's time.
Wine Tasting is a narrative or fictional film about the struggles of 4 men as they study for and ultimately pass this very important exam. As with any career that's a massive investment of time and money, if the right balance is not formed there can be major consequences both personally and professionally. These four friends must deal with the damage that they've caused their professional lives. In light of the film industry controversy about the lack of diversity, I've made two of these men Latino (one is Mexican, one is Colombian) and two of them are gay (the Mexican guy, and one of the white men). Please support diversity in independent film and donate to my project by clicking on the highlighted link for my GoFundMe link. Also please spread the word and share this article and/or the GoFundMe link.
