It all started with departure of an old Boing 707 from Tehran's airport only a few days after the start of the recent uprising. The choice of 707 was because it can carry a large group of passengers and six containers of cargo. The flight was important as the content was the first group of Iranian corrupt government members and their family who were running away with the loot.
Since then, a part of Tehran's airport has been cut off and the security officers are all changed. The latest reports indicate that about five charter plains are flying away with the high-ranking officials and their money.
The extent of the theft is so high that no one can come up with an estimate. Most of these thieves have been transferring their funds and their family to other countries for many years already.
The second group are going to countries nearby Iran who accept Iranian passports. The most favorite place is Baghdad where they have connections with officials at the high levels of the government. For a fee they obtain an Iraqi passport and move on to other countries.
A few days ago, a British congressman Mr. Bob Stewart questioned the foreign secretary about Iranians buying British passport. She promised that she would check into it. It looks like that England is a favorite for the thieves, because of security and many other issues.
The ones whose background is questionable prefer small Caribbean countries whose requirement is having money. Apparently, they give you a passport upon arrival.
The Supreme leader's son Mr. Mojtaba Khamenei went to Moscow a few days ago to make similar arrangements for their family.
The only good news within this news is that the Iranian ruling government's rule is coming to an end.
