Feisty Maxine Waters has been the ranking member of the House Financial Services Committee since Barney Frank (D-MA) retired in 2012. She has been the U.S. Representative for California's 43rd congressional district since 2013 and has served in Congress since 1991. She chaired the Congressional Black Caucus from 1997 - 1999.

The 116th Congress convenes on January 3, 2019. Waters is expected to be in charge of the House Financial Services Committee, and therefore would be the person who can investigate Trump's financial dealings and subpoena his bank records.

Waters was one of the first to call for impeaching Trump and hasn't let go. During her eulogy at Dick Gregory's funeral in 2017, she said that she was "cleaning out the White House" and that "when I get through with Donald Trump, he's going to wish he had been impeached."

In a tweet, Trump called Waters a "low IQ individual." (Waters received her bachelor's degree in sociology from Los Angeles State College, now California State University.)

After the fatal violence at the white nationalist protest rally in Charlottesville, Virginia on August 12, 2017, Waters tweeted, "Trump has made it clear--it is now the White Supremacists' House."

And, as you know, there's a difference in how some of our leadership talk about how we should handle all of this. They say, 'Maxine, please don't say impeachment anymore.' And when they say that, I say impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment.

Looks like Maxine will be cooking up some mincemeat pie.
