Mental Health Parity in Employer Provided Insurance

We’re part way there! Congress to end a 50% copay requirement for outpatient mental health treatment for Medicare .While the battle f or Medicare parity was won this week, Congress must still pass final legislation to establish parity in employer provided insurance

You must speak out now because time is running short..

Senate and House negotiators have bridged key differences on the requirements for mental health parity. This compromise between S.558 and H.R.1424 would improve currant law by requiring parity on any treatment limitations and financial requirements; health plans to provide out of network mental health and addictions benefits at parity if the plan offers out of network medical or surgical benefits; requiring disclosure on medical necessity criteria and preserving stronger state parity and consumer protection laws.

But final parity legislation must be brought to a vote, and must include provisions to offset costs Congress projects would result .It’s critical that you email your Senators and Representatives now: ”Congress must complete its work on parity now!”
