Lonely pony on a rainy day,
Lost his mama in the middle of May,
Stormy weather's comin,
Clouds are dark and gray,
Baby's in the field a cryin,
More trouble's on its way.
Painted troubadour on a pretzel stick,
Made a living with a slippery dick,
Soldier's boots a stompin,
With a high hip kick,
Most the children dyin,
All the rest are sick.
Gentle giant in a junkyard jail,
Sipping whiskey out of a dirty pail,
Tears shed from livin lonely years,
Tried to be happy but to no avail,
Spent ten years workin as a carnival clown,
But when the kids cried it made him wail.
Lonely pony on a rainy day,
Lost his mama in the middle of May,
Stormy weather's comin,
Clouds are dark and gray,
Baby's in the field a cryin,
More trouble's on its way.
