As smirky and snarky as all of this from Leonhardt might possibly sound to fierce Bernie supporters, I tell you this: please realize that this is coming from the NY Times, which has historically impugned just about everything about Bernie, in just about every way possible.


I have always deduced that this stance derived from Sanders' opposition to Billionaires, Wall Street, and the American corporate kleptocracy, so for the Times to advance towards a real understanding and potentially truthful journalism: this is a serious and positive breakthrough. Leonhardt always has a mind of his own, and I appreciate his serious independent streak.

Time will tell how the New York Times treats Bernie's successes in Iowa, which are just around the corner....

Even Nate Cohn of the New York Times, one of the worst Bernie slammers in 2016, seems to be coming around a tiny bit, regarding an Iowa Poll that put Biden ahead:

"...that poll's sample appeared to be light on several groups of voters (like millennials) who often support Sanders, as Nate Cohn of The Times pointed out."
