PEPPER SPRAY: UC Davis students 'maced' in Occupy protest Police at the University of California spray sit-down protesters linked with the Occupy movement, attracting international condemnation. Report by Sam Datta-...

U. of California, Davis students pepper sprayed as part of "occupy" in 2011.

It seems we no longer have 17 intel agencies spying for the government in the US.

According to the lead article [1] in Sunday's New York Times, "The federal government has significantly expanded undercover operations in recent years, with officers from at least 40 agencies posing as business people, welfare recipients, political protesters, and even doctors or ministers to ferret out wrongdoing."

"Undercover work was once largely the domain of the FBI, but outside public view, changes in policies and tactics over the last decade have resulted in undercover teams run by agencies in virtually every corner of the federal government according to officials, former agents and documents."

At the Supreme Court "teams of undercover officers dressed as students" joined the protests "looking for suspicious activity".

At the IRS agents posed as "tax preparers".

At the Agriculture Department agents posed as "food stamp recipients at neighborhood stores to spot fraud". At some stores "minors were used as decoys looking for illegal alcohol and cigarette sales".

A DEA agent "created a Facebook page from photos of a Watertown, NY woman-without her knowledge-to lure drug suspects."

So what is one to make of all this "undercover" work done by these federal agencies that has spread since 9/11?

It can't be put any other way; the federal government has become its own version of the old East German "Stasi" secret police and with the NSA surveillance of every electronic communication of everyone it's a totalitarian state acting under the guise of a Constitution that is supposed to protect the privacy of the individual.

To the government everyone is a potential suspect in its eyes so even your doctor or minister could turn out to be a federal agent.

Suspicion or better paranoia has gripped official Washington with its agents posing everywhere using tactics to entrap way beyond any legal justification of suspicion into the realm where everyone is suspect.

Infiltration of legal protests with agent provocateurs was a tactic used by the FEDS to bring in local law enforcement to dismantle the "occupy" encampments that proliferated over the country in 2011.

Could it be the government is suspecting the populace to rise up and rebel against it?
