Obama made all sorts of promises also, but he didn't really deliver did he? Trump makes all kinds of promises, he won't deliver either on most or all as well - because presidents are not kings who can enact policies on their own and get away with it - there is an establishment to deal with. Take for example jobs and getting rid of the free-trade deals and so on? That would raise holy hell since congress is pro-trade deals, and it would unleash all sorts of lawsuits against the government, and raise prices tremendously, and devastate the economy since it is built around the trade deals for the last 25 years. High-paying blue-collar jobs will not magically move back overnight, it would take years and years. He would make enemies with congress and the banks and the corporations and other countries and on and on. Trump would be gone before any of it would occur.
Don't expect Trump to be that guy. Many didn't think Sanders could do it either because the result would be devastating to prices and your investments if you have any, and in 4 years or sooner (some way to impeach will be found) he will be gone and trade deals will be back. Forget it, Holmes. Trump will not deliver, and if he does, it will not last and he will be gone. The current trade deals are bad, but trying to put that genie back in the bottle would take much more than Trump will be willing to do, if he could even last long enough to do them. Sanders wanted to change America as much as he could into a model that follows the Scandinavian countries (social democracy); that and that alone could make up for the devastation that would occur. Trump will not do that.
What else did he promise that you care so much about? Muslims? Nope, he won't do it since once in office he will find out how much power the Muslim lobby has - they own much of corporate America, as in literally own since they are huge investors in American corporations what with their trillions of dollars in sovereign-wealth funds and so on; i.e., the Saudis and Gulf states that is. And they can wreck the American economy if they wanted what with their owning loads of government debt. And they are the biggest clients of the defense industry after the American military. Also they control the price of oil. So that is a non-starter as well.
What else did he promise? Guns? Since when are guns illegal? Just empty rhetoric. What? Make it easier to buy guns? Just what we need, right, more guns in the hands of criminals or loons? Think dummies.
What else? Lower taxes? Poor people already pay no income tax, so he will lower it for the rich and that will make you happy? Or what, the middle class will save a few hundred bucks a year, well guess what, inflation has made that a joke. He can't reduce taxes too much, where do you think the military gets their money from? Or the infrastructure projects he wants to get done?
Infrastructure projects? I doubt it. After all the money that goes to the military there is barely enough money to pay for what is already paid for; lowering taxes will make that kitty even lower. So don't count on it.
Immigrants? Take a look outside; rioting in the streets will make him change that promise.
What else, foreign policy? This is the biggest joke of all. The defense industry owns congress; they depend on war to make hundreds of billions a year. They control foreign war-mongering, I mean do not be a fool and think that Obama and Hillary are just irrational "war hawks" and that explains everything. The defense industry is the main power in American politics; Trump cannot take them on and win. They control the intelligence agencies and anyone who challenges them will feel their wrath, one way or another. Trump will cave, count on it.
