Israeli worshipper after killing of four Israeli's in synogogue on Tuesday
Yes there was a brutal tragedy in west Jerusalem on Tuesday where two east Jerusalem Palestinian cousins entered a synagogue and brutally murdered four Jewish rabbis.
And there is no excusing the actions of the two Palestinians taking the lives of innocents.
But only a fool could believe such an action is some random act of two deranged men without understanding why such horrors occur; to not recognize that Israel, as the brutal occupier of the West Bank and Jerusalem routinely bulldoze the homes of Palestinian's, destroy their olive groves, often as the families watched in horror and then witness Jewish settlers build settlements on the confiscated lands, all protected under the watchful eyes of the IDF, Israeli Defense Force and when Palestinian's are slaughtered by Israeli tanks, artillery, bombs and missiles during Israel's assault on Gaza this past summer-while Israeli's on the hills outside Gaza cheered, hooped and hollered as Israeli planes indiscriminately bombed the Palestinian's below-killing some 2,000 Palestinian innocents, then retaliation against Israeli innocents, of the sort that occurred Tuesday against innocent Jews in revenge may not be acceptable, but it is understandable.
People can not be brutalized by an occupier for decades; their lands confiscated and then have the Israeli occupier slaughter thousands of Palestinian innocents in ways taken that are completely disproportional to any Palestinian violence against Jews, these revenge type killings are going to happen.
And despite President Obama deploring what happened and Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowing to "respond harshly", it is the pivotal role taken by the US in its unequivocal support of Israel and its apartheid rule over the Palestinian's-even in the face of worldwide denunciation over Israel's illegal occupation of the Palestinian's-that has allowed Israel to act with impunity knowing it will have the full backing of the US regardless of its illegal actions.
Of course the American people see and hear nothing from its corporate media detailing the atrocities committed by the Israeli's. It's always put in the context, "Israel has the right to defend itself".
Whether the distorted picture given to Americans is fear of the media being accused of anti-Semitism by the likes of AIPAC, the MSM as well as the fawning stooges in the US Congress are knee jerk supporters of Israel, refusing to present an honest picture of this reality. Israel is a brutal, apartheid occupier of the Palestinian's with no intention from its inception in 1948 of ever creating an independent Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza.
As for the Jewish people in Israel proper, most live in denial of the plight of the Palestinian's and support the reactionary Netanyahu and his brutal measures.
Israel is on the wrong side of history and despite hiding behind the Holocaust to deflect all criticism of its policies as being the voices of the anti-Semitic, demographics may in the end may rule the day.
Population growth of the Palestinian's living in Israel as well as the West Bank far outpaces the birthrate of Jews. As no independent Palestinian state-a two state solution-is ever likely to happen, Palestinian's may one day overtake the number of Jews in Israel and it becomes a minority Jewish state.
But even before this demographic will take place, people all over the world are recognizing the brutality of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian's and actions such as the BDS, boycott, divestment and sanctions movement is happening which opposes the purchase of everything produced in the West Bank settlements by the illegal settlers until Israel ends its occupation. Such were the type of actions taken against the white, apartheid regime in South Africa that was finally ended in the 1990's. The same must be done with Israel.
Apartheid rule also won't last forever in the West Bank, Jerusalem and Gaza.
