American flag flown upside down indicating the country in distress
There is no other way to put it; the government in America-which really doesn't represent us-is insane, a mad, malignant scourge that is the greatest threat in the world.
Most Americans haven't come to that conclusion.
Yet most in the world have come to that conclusion at least since 9/11 and the initiation of Bush's global war on terror. From our bombing, drone and missile attacks, indiscriminate killing and maiming of innocents, torture, illegal wars and occupations destroying those countries in the process or indirectly by others seeing the savagery from afar, yet unmistakably recognizing it for what it is.
Most Americans in contrast, susceptible to the governments and servile MSM propaganda are indifferent to the suffering the government has inflicted on others, insouciant, without a care. They are unable or can't bear to admit to themselves their country has been usurped, their democracy unraveled and overtaken by what former president Eisenhower warned of in his farewell speech as the military/industrial complex, which now we know includes the political and become a plutocracy that serves the interests of the few in total disregard to the plight of the many.
The occupy movement in 2011exposed the venality, coining the disparity of the 1% and the 99%, detailing the many wrongs thrust onto the people in America, the huge unemployment, a trillion dollars in student loan debt, bankruptcy and foreclosure of millions savaged by a rapacious, greedy financial industry, the off shoring of jobs, a decimated manufacturing base, infrastructure crumbling, poverty growing and a middle class dramatically declining to name just a few of the country's growing ills.
Though the occupy encampments were systematically torn down and removed by frightened local authorities in coordination with federal, state and local police, the exposure by occupy of America's ills was groundbreaking, a first spark whose embers remain, waiting to be ignited by some unknown event or crisis.
The government now captured by neo-con ideology continues its regime change strategy with a new war in Iraq, soon to be Syria going after ISIS, the Islamic State we created, trained and armed but now portrayed as the latest bogeyman enemy threatening America with this latest misadventure dubbed as a "humanitarian mission".
Our government since the end of W.W.II has backed authoritarian dictators from the CIA backed coup in Iran in 1953 to Ukraine this year, made allies in Europe subservient to our policies and actions in Afghanistan in 2001 and Iraq in 2003, exercised hegemony with over a thousand military bases worldwide, moved NATO to the doorstep of Russia, now provoking that country with the US backed coup in Ukraine, instigated false flag operations in that country from the coup in February, the neo Nazi thugs-we back-burning the trades union building in Odessa burning alive the protesters forced within, to the downing of the Malaysian passenger plane by a Ukrainian jet fighter witnessed by those on the ground and confirmed recently with parts of the wreckage inspected by OSCE --Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe observers revealing machine gun holes in the cockpit area that likely brought the plane down; all this along with the incessant demonizing of Russian President Vladimir Putin by our government and the corporate media falsely accusing him of fomenting the Ukraine crisis.
And let's not forget, the Viet Nam war was expanded from advisers to over 500,000 American troops based on the phony false flag "Gulf of Tonkin" incident blaming the North Vietnamese to justify the US escalation of that unnecessary war.
There is no covering up this sordid history-not to mention the genocide committed on the native American culture, slavery and Jim Crow, the internment of Japanese Americans after Pearl Harbor-revealing just how sinister our government is, has been and will continue to be unless we the people recognize it for what it is and do what was done by those patriots in 1776.
As for reform, no matter how well intentioned, it is irredeemable.
