Beliefs are what divide people.
Sir Peter Ustinov, 1921-2004
Before writing this short article, I browsed the internet to learn more about isms. Here is what I found: 1. Ism is itself a word meaning a belief or system of beliefs. 2. There are 880 words ending in ism. 3. Ism is a "distinctive doctrine, cause, or theory" and "an oppressive and especially discriminatory attitude or belief."
Now, obviously, this article would turn into a book if I discoursed on 880 plus 1 "isms." No, this short article simply highlights the isms that create schisms in a society, with a focus on America's corpocracy. As a backdrop, I have always considered hardened beliefs as equivalent to hardened ideologies cast in immovable stone. From my research and anecdotal evidence about the wrongdoing and evildoing of the superior power elite in the war and other harmful industries in America's corpocracy, the subordinate power elite in government, and the countless millions of functionaries who carry out the work that at worst kill millions, I have concluded that ideologies serve as useful rationalizations for the behavior and consequences that follow. [1]
The Case of Theism
I will start with the theisms as practiced in several religions. As a prelude, I consider organized religion as one of the most potent sources of evil. There has never been, for example, a war that organized religion did not either start such as the crusades, support or tolerate. I once tried to coax the leaders of the world's major religions to unite and follow my plan to replace war with peace in the world. I failed utterly. [2] They know who their biggest "givers" are.
The major theisms are Buddhism, Catholicism, Fundamentalism, Hinduism, Islamism, Judaism, and Protestantism. Evangelicalism and Fundamentalism are strict, literal, no-holds barred, interpretations and applications of holy scripture that underly many of the listed religions. These two isms add the most fuel to the engines of declared and undeclared wars. [3]
The Cases of Fascism and Communism
Mussolini called fascism corporatism, just another name for America's corpocracy. Communism, of course, is the convenient bete noire of America's corpocracy and its power elite.
The Case of Economic Isms
Capitalism vs. Socialism. To all socialists who claim capitalism is a BAD economic system, I simply retort, "Read all I and others have ever written about GOOD capitalism. [4]
