Out of the pan means into the fire

barefoot and pregnancy blues

serving up potluck stews

oops, look what I've made of desire

.

I was a maiden and now I'm laden

with years of care ahead;

the suckling sounds, and dread

of running dry, needing a trade-in

.

Somehow or other I think of Crusoe

whose man Friday leapt from the pan

of cannibals into the fire of a pent-up man

with a parrot says for 30 years, loose screw

.
