What good will this bill do if the government fines people for not having coverage while simultaneously subsidizing insurance companies, and then doesn't provide any possible competition for an irretrievably corrupt industry until 2013. This is a joke! Of course, I could buy shares of stock in the companies like Wellpoint and UnitedHealth Group, then I can make a profit off of millions off poor sick souls too! The punchline is that the House bill REALLY does not completely take effect till 2019. Ha, that is funny!!!
Maybe Speaker Pelosi and the others in Democrat leadership, who have been pleading that they deeply feel the pain and suffering of the American People, don't realize that the bill does not fully cover all Americans for ten years. They must have been too lost in their crocodile tears to have noticed. The insurance industry has won, and the people are going to keep on suffering despite the media spin that something historic has been accomplished.
Ah, I see on opensecrets.org that Pelosi has taken well over a million dollars from the health, insurance, and pharmaceutical industry during her career. Is it possible that this joke could have two punchlines? Don't tell me that other US Representatives, who have had similar relationships with the industry, want us to believe they can reform? My goodness, how many punchlines does this joke have? I cannot take much more of this; every new statistic I find seems to knock the 'wind out of me', as if I have been collectively punched in the gut by every joker that stands to profit off the so called 'reform' Congress is now contemplating within the security of their sacred marble halls.
