A disgusting scum
has risen to the top
of the melting pot
that used to be America.
This pot is more like a blender
that liquifies dissent
as it conducts its immiserating agenda.
A maggoty layer
of power and money
hangs over the rest of us
like the Sword of Damocles.
It's begun slicing and dicing
our financial jugulars,
eviscerating the infrastructure
of our economy
herding us all
into capitalism's credit CAFO
and thrusting our most vulnerable
into its abattoir without pity
to make millions and billions
denying food, shelter and healthcare,
calling their collateral damage
victims of personal irresponsibility.
They continue to whip up
the downsizing and outsourcing,
letting CEO dough rise
by making workers unemployed,
by cooking the books,
paying off all our elected crooks
and making sure no tax dodge
remains unexploited.
But this should come
as no surprise,
since the recipe for profit
contains only one vital ingredient,
which when baked in the oven
of capitalist-owned means of production
allows the scum
to appropriate
the value labor creates
and eat it.
