Hunter Biden is not the only political child with a famous last name. While he has long been targeted by House Republicans attempting to impeach his father, no public information directly linking President Biden to his son's business actions exists after over two years of trying. Hunter opened his deposition to the House Oversight Committee on February 28th stating, "I did not involve my father in my business," and saying his testimony "should put an end to this baseless and destructive political charade."
It is unclear what Hunter Biden can now be investigated for in Congress, given that he never served in the White House plus what legal experts call the "fruit of the poison tree" now that FBI has just arrested prime informant Alexander Smirnov for fraud in the case.
Donald Trump's children, meanwhile, were often in the spotlight for their partaking in his Presidential administration or maintaining his vast business empire. The access and benefits Trump passed onto his children drastically differ from Hunter Biden's potential and actualo benefits.
Trump's daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner, by becoming advisors in his cabinet, broke anti-nepotism laws passed in 1967 that stated Presidents could not appoint their relatives to the White House staff, presidential commissions, or to official posts (Section 3110 of Title 5, also known as the Anti-Nepotism Statute). Kushner, as Trump's senior adviser, was blocked against having a top-secret security clearance back in 2019 until President Trump himself reversed and approved the designation. No one debated that Jared and Ivanka continued to receive the benefits of the Trump real estate and investment businesses, valued as much as $740 million according to ethics filings released by the White House as they joined Trump in the White House as the New York Times reported in March 2017.
Perhaps of most significance is Jared's $2 Billion from Saudi Arabia for a fund like he's never administered before. So much for distance from the Saudis after the assassination and chopping up of Washington Post reporter Jamal Khashoggi and supplying 15 of the 19 9-11 hijackers.
