I'm writing this before the debate. Here's my prediction, not for the debate, but how Romney supporters and their media echo chamber will spin it:

Remember, this is not my observation of the debate. This is what I predict FOX news and paid right wing pundits on CNN, MSNBC, etc. will be saying in response to the debate.

Strategies and responses

Obama was  aggressive, inappropriate, unpresidential.

Romney followed the rules, was polite.

Obama rudely interrupted Romney.

Candace Crowley violated the terms of the debate and sided with Obama.

Obama blinked too much, closed his eyes while thinking, signs that he didn't have ready command of the information and facts.

Obama appeared desperate, and that's why he was so rude, in his effort to make up for his first failed debate.

The goals of the strategies and responses described above:

Solidify and expand on the purported Romney "win" in the first debate.

Distract from and minimize scores Obama makes in substantive discussion during the debate.

Minimize Obama's successes in tone, theater, style, appearance.

Even if Obama does extremely well in terms of the content and or style of the debate, this strategy can and will work to diminish any success Obama has. It is highly unlikely that the liberal media will do anything similar to Romney. They don't play the same kind of hardball.
