There's a fun new tool that enables you to plug in your first name check how liberal or conservative it is.
Political modeling and analytics firm Clarity Campaign Labs used data from party voter files across the USA to create a tool that that checks how first names correlate with voting patterns. Sounds a bit dry but it is a lot of fun and very addicting. Try checking just one name. (remember the "bet you can't eat one"  potatoto chip ad?)

For example, my name, Robert,  runs a bit more conservative than liberal.  Here are the results of the analysis for my name.

I got hooked on this and ran the names of my kids, friends, etc. Most were pretty close to the center, like mine. Matter of fact, the most conservative names I could find, and I'm not making this up, was "Dick," at 57.9% conservative  and Kent at 59% conservative. Tom and Harry come in just under 52% conservative, if you are wondering about some other white guy names. Mary comes in at 54.7% liberal and Jane comes in at 50.4% liberal.
More ethnic names like Dashon 88% liberal and Shameka 85% are far more liberal. Juan comes in at 73.4%. Maria comes in at 71.3% liberal.  Raul comes in at 71.3% liberal. Mohamed comes in at 80.9% liberal.
