After decades of "peace talks" between the state of Israel and Palestinian leaders, nothing has been accomplished. Israeli PM Netanyahu has openly said he does not want the Palestinian people to have their own nation. Israel's actions over the last 40 years have shown that this is the true stance of the nation even when the Israeli government says otherwise, as is evident by Israel continuing to steal land from Palestinians even while "peace talks" are going on. The Israeli Occupation Force continues to beat, imprison and murder Palestinian men, women and children. And US politicians from both parties continue to take money from Americans and give it to Israel to the tune of over $3 BILLION annually. This amounts to tacit approval by the US politicians and the US government to the illegal and brutal Israeli occupation of Palestinian land.

Hillary Clinton wants to be President of the United States. She, like virtually every US politician, knows the raw power of the Israel lobby. In an effort to win favor with the Israel lobby she has sent a letter to Israeli-American billionaire Haim Saban, asking him for advice on how she can best battle the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement which is putting pressure on Israel to end the Israeli occupation and colonization of Palestinian land, full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and respect for the right of return of Palestinian refugees. These are all very democratic principles. You'd think the Democrat Hillary Clinton would be in favor of them.

One of Clinton's goals is to fight BDS for Israel on state levels. She wants to encourage state legislatures to do battle against BDS. In her letter to Sabin she referenced South Carolina and Illinois as two states that are already fighting BDS for Israel on the state level. Getting support for Israel on the state level should be easy since most local politicians are just as subservient to the Israel lobby as national politicians and they lust after the possibility of holding a national office.

In addition to self-gain on the part of the politicians from both parties, a major reason for blind support for Israel is found in the belief by millions of Christian Zionist Americans that the Bible is the Word of God and the Bible teaches them that God gave real estate in the Middle East to the ancient Hebrews/Jews which is the Jewish state of Israel. This is reflected in an official resolution passed by the South Carolina legislature which states, "Whereas, Israel has been granted her lands under and through the oldest recorded deed as reported in the Old Testament, a tome of scripture held sacred and reverenced by Jew and Christian, alike, as the acts and words of God."

Hillary Clinton suffers from this same delusion that the Bible is the Word of God. She said in an interview with the New York Times, "I think the whole Bible is real." She also said in that same interview that one of her favorite books in the Bible is Isaiah. Since she believes the Bible is the Word of God she must believe she is saving America from destruction by God when she puts Israel's interests over and above the interests of the US and the rest of the world as Isaiah 60:12 warns that any Gentile nation that will not serve Israel "shall perish" and "will be utterly wasted."

The religious violence in the Middle East and the Bible believing US politicians make clear that the Deist Thomas Paine was correct when he wrote in The Age of Reason, The Complete Edition that we need a revolution in religion based on our innate God-given reason and Deism. This would do much to make a more peaceful world.
