Hard Times

I went to sleep

And when I woke

For some reason

The country's broke

They screech on radio and T.V.

The banks are failing The markets too

There ain't no jobs for me and you

I have no idea

How the cash got spent

they spent too much

Now we must repent.

They blame it all

On sub-prime loans

Bad mortgages and greed

And untapped phones.

The geniuses
