Handbook of Congressional Missteps

My name is Molly and I am an American robin. As I fly over your country, mine too, I see many things. I learned to think by seeing myself in car door mirrors. I am a mother who has had several broods of hatchlings. A fellow wrote about me in Animal Park. He only got half the story right as most people do because you humans think you are not as bad as you really are or not as good as you think you are. The other half I'll have to tell you myself. Well, that's another story.
As I fly around the country it is evident that much work needs to be done here. From the solitude of school libraries closed during vacations as well as those wonderful public libraries it is clear that your country is slowly but surely lagging behind so many others in so many areas, except one: your superior military technology.
Your entire national security apparatus is immense and costly. In dealing with an international criminal gang your government began wars. It was like providing your young people with an expensive and unwieldy, heavy and solid gold sledgehammer and sending them to fight in a minefield to kill deadly mosquitoes whose poison is sometimes spread by the missteps and mistakes of its adversary.
Flying over the horizon, I crafted this Handbook of Government Missteps.
1. Your two political parties took impeachment off the Constitutional table against a thoroughly incompetent president who deceived or stampeded the country into war.
2. Your national government has initiated numerous wars without a declaration of war, making war easy instead of making it hard.
3. Your two political parties are often in unanimity on spending trillions of dollars on warfare rather than on the general welfare of the people as stated in your Constitution, such as a national health care plan. (If your government wants to tie and attach health care to jobs why doesn't your government tie wealth to military service, requiring all those making over $100,000 to serve in the Armed Forces? Let it be optional for everybody else.)
4. Your two political parties receive large campaign donations from lobbyists representing specific industries or companies, which is legalized bribery.
