Are you a "let them eat cake" Green living in a safe Blue or Red state. If So, don't cast your easily gotten moral superiority to progressives struggling with what to do in swing states. There is NO comparison between your choice and theirs.
People are advocating for voting third party-- well, I did it in 2012 and in 2016. I thought I was in a safe state, Pennsylvania, and I wanted to vote my principles and not vote for the lesser of two evils.
But these are unique times and I don't believe that now is the time to vote third party. We need to get all 50 states to do what a few states and cities are doing, using ranked choice voting. Only then will third party voting be viable when it comes to swing states. If you are not in a swing state, in other words, in a solid red or blue state, like CA, MA, NJ, SC, UT, MI, ID, ND, SD, TN, KS, WA, OR, or MO, then you have the luxury of voting your conscience and not voting for the lesser evil.
In a way, preaching to people in swing states to vote Green is like telling them to "eat cake." But if you are in a state that is a swing state, or a state that has recently elected a Democrat to a statewide office, like even Alabama or Kentucky, then you could make a difference.
In this election, I know Biden is a hold-your-nose candidate. But Trump is a recover-from-intensive-care, explosive vomit candidate who must be removed from office. He is huge threat to the future of the USA and the planet. Failure to see that, to see that he is far worse than Biden/Harris is truly blindness. And I will do what I can to persuade you in the next few months.
I understand how you think third party is the right way to go.As I said, I've voted Green and would vote it most of the time, if we had ranked choice voting, But I believe it is a mistake this time around. If you live in a solid blue state that Hillary won by 5 or more points, you have the luxury of going with your never again vote for a lesser evil. But if you are in a swing state, please think twice about your role in helping to inflict another four years of the worst president, a malignant narcissist psychopath, on the USA and the world.
Yes Biden is no prize, but he is so much better than Trump. And I truly believe that Harris will surprise us and be a lot better than her history. She's certainly no Bernie, Tulsi, AOC or Elizabeth. But she has already evolved, as Sean King has tweeted.
Yes.
In 2018, I said I did not plan on endorsing either Joe Biden or Kamala Harris IN THE DEMOCRATIC PRIMARIES.… https://t.co/VoDezxpKw6 at https://t.co/VoDezxpKw6

She has already, as a senator, shown how she has evolved on Marijuana. Believing that Trump is better than Biden Harris is simply delusional.
Advocating for voting Green while you live in a solid Red or Blue state is no different than Marie Antoinette saying "let them eat cake."
If you're going to advocate for Green, make it clear that you are from a solid red or blue state and you have the luxury. Sure, voting Green is the ideal choice, but this is an election where, in swing states, it is not the right option for progressives.
