Like a cat ready to pounce, the Israel Above All clique has been waiting for its chance to snare America's most senior journalist, the redoubtable Helen Thomas. One false move and she is trapped. The attackers only exposed the extent to which they will go to stifle opposition to Israel's policies, the extent to which they are able to quickly organize their attacks, the extent to which they are able to publish false information, the extent to which they are capable of controlling media, and the extent of their self-immolation.
Israel's apologists always manage to use their debts as collateral. Note that the killings of nine innocent humanitarians in international waters have principally collected a warning to Israel that it is losing the public relations battle and should refrain from being too aggressive in the near future. Now, only a few words, which harm nobody, are used by Israel's apologists to create a frenzy that destroys the body and soul of a valiant nonagenarian woman and portrays the Israelis as victims of an inhuman attack. A careful analysis of the incident reveals a backfire to which those who disapprove of Israel's policies should use to advantage.

(2) Helen Thomas only replied spontaneously to provocative questions,.
(3 Helen Thomas only made a few remarks, which others interpreted for their convenience as recommending "ethnic cleansing.' Israel has had consistent policies of "ethnic cleansing.' Those who attacked the few words from Helen have never contradicted Israel leaders' words that recommend expulsion of Palestinians nor Israel's policies of ethnic cleansing.
Start with Helen Thomas' statements and the reporting of them.
Although media headlines quoted Ms. Thomas as having said "The Jews should get the hell out of Palestine," and "go home to Germany and Poland," the dean of White House correspondents never used the word Jews nor uttered the quotes as they were presented.
The complete video of the verbal exchange between Ms. Thomas and the reporter shows that she was asked her thoughts on Israel. "Tell them to get the hell out of Palestine," she answered in a jocular manner. "Remember, these people are occupied. It's their land. It's not Germany, not Poland."
Interpretation of these remarks to mean "Jews out of Israel," betrays the interpreters. Palestine means the West Bank and Gaza. Hasn't most of the world, including the United Nations, petitioned Israel to leave the West Bank? Intimating the West Bank is part of Israel or Israel is actually Palestine shows the psychological makeup of those who falsely characterized Ms. Thomas' remarks.
She was subsequently asked: "What should they do?" and not "What should the Jews do?" She answered, "They should go back to their land."
Who is the "they' that the famous journalist is talking about; not the Jews of Israel, but the usurpers of Palestinian land in the West bank the former East Europeans, many of whom are non-Jews, and others from around the world who arrived in the West Bank with either messianic visions or seduced by a largess from the Israeli government to co-opt Palestinian land and infrastructure and capture it for Israel.
