To what labels do we adhere?
Great minds think alike Pope Francis
Boehner prayerfully bowing out in aura of Papal wake, having washed his hands of a Middle Class sacrificed on the altar of a Tea stained minimum wage
Chinese blow by with emissions talk in the wind
Not knowing why Putin dropped in
It's not the numbers flowing from Syria, but the labels: Lebanon, Afghanistan and OMG, Africa. All we like Trump sheep going astray labeling our nation with, don't give me your tired old criminals yearning to do drug deals and rape those labeled with victim mentality?
We'll never know how much like Pope Francis we can be unless we let go of labels that allow us to deny, ignore and stigmatize our fellow human beings. If only we could be as concerned for mother and child after birth, as some portend before labor labels them.
How do we label Americans living in the twenty-four states refusing to provide Medicaid expansion for their citizens who most need affordable healthcare; or the five million American families living with Alzheimer's disease; or the 250 million children around the world who cannot read or write; or the geographical location and poverty that prevents children, especially girls from being educated.
The whirlwind visit of Francis I wasn't to be Made in America with The People's Pope label. He came to touch our hearts and open our minds so we see the injustice of Climate Change, war, ignorance, and yes, the shame of sexual child abuse. He came so we could see beyond America, to Global Citizenship.
Like Pope Francis I, Climate Change, the justice of gender equality and the depletion of the earth's resources cannot wait for our grandchildren. These forces already demand our attention. While we follow media directed email woman-hunt, we're missing
Wall Street empire building
Why space travel and water are being privatized
The urgency of American cities now bone dry or flooding repeatedly
Labeling blinds us to a deeper reality: character and personality, like Climate Change and Global Warming are not the same thing. While we memorize and mesmerize over labels for storms, we fail to ask, on what, and to whom, does Corporatism turn when the wells run dry?
So many claim God whispers discrimination in their ear, but only labeled Schizophrenics are proclaimed demons each time gun violence prevails over reason.
