When the AIs get us down

on pity's pendulum table

we better tell them some truth

whether we prefer damnless clark gable

or the hitchhike gams of betty grable

everything we've known rides on it --struth! --

when the wiseguy AIs come round

Well Wagner's heavy tubas will have to weigh in

that gassy German Goethe spirit gloomdoom boom

virtueless (O so!) violins had to reinvent themselves

to reach such shrill over the highest C. Make room

for the twilight of idylls, God in a chromatic tomb,

and cruel ring fires, of course. We'll need scapegoat elves --

let's see if the Jews are up for some krystal defenestration

I myself am leaving here and now and being -- all yours!

Alas, alas, I've been driven stark raving sane. I won't live

in a world without illusions to hang my magic hat on,

a horror roarer pointing to the sky. And I don't give

a flying buttress if the cathedral dissolves through the sieve

of the pixie dust, and the pixilated con,

the grifting lost empire of the ancient gypsy whores

I don't care what they say (seriously)

I won't live in a world without love (deliriously)

I just won't
