Will they (rhetorically) join the gays Kevin Swanson wants put to death?

Political association -- Right Wing Christian association - what's
the difference?
The Law of Association
Call it the Law of Association: associating with criminals is considered a
political crime (remember when Obama was castigated for "palling around
with terrorist" Roger Ailes and having Jeremiah Wright as his pastor?). So
is associating with Christian Right extremists (think of the
McCain-Parsley-Hagee political debacle). But associating with crackpots who
want the death penalty for gays and women who practice contraception (they have
"tiny dead fetuses embedded in their wombs" you see) just ... isn't.
WASHINGTON -- Over 25,000 people have already signed a People For the American Way petition speaking out against the Republican Party for standing with extremists who have repeatedly defended the death penalty for LGBT people. The petition calls on Ted Cruz, Mike Huckabee, and Bobby Jindal to speak out against the violent bigotry of the so-called National Religious Liberties Conference at which they are scheduled to speak this weekend in Des Moines. The conference organizer, Kevin Swanson, has openly and repeatedly defended capital punishment laws for LGBT people, said that he thinks Girl Scout cookies and the movie "Frozen" will turn young girls into lesbians, and called the death of abortion providers divine "upcommance."
He also thinks that since Harry Potter's mentor was gay, and that shows a
definite recruitment technique.
(Note: The author having come from a showing of Disney's FANTASIA, was
particularly struck by how a masterpiece of beauty and inspiration could be
judged immoral - and you could bet that Pastor Swanson has considered it so:
the movie promotes evolution (dinosaurs in the Rights of Spring), glorifies
Satan (Night on Bald Mountain) and features a Sorcerer and his apprentice
(Mickey Mouse). Of course, Harry Potter may mot be such a masterpiece, but does
the fact that Dumbeldor is gay negate any of its qualities? Swanson really
proves here that righteous arrogance really make you stupid.)
The candidates did not respond to the petition.
At all.
What are we supposed to do with this flagrant disregard for American
sensibilities? Respect them, apparently. And while this makes the Republican
clown car more clownish, more fringe, they don't seem to care on that score
either.
