Has the time come for a Revolution from the Center?
If, as Commander-in-Chief, President Trump does not care for fallen heroes and their families, whom does he care for?
If President Trump does not care for the lives and welfare of all the American people, whom does he care for?
Certainly not for MAGA People who are in the military and support him; nor for MAGA People who are daily succumbing to the deadly attack of COVID-19.
No, the tax package passed by his Administration did not give more than a pittance to MAGA People. The bulk of the benefits went to President Trump, his family, and his friends.
No, the 100 or so EPA ecology protections that he has demolished did not turn to the benefit of MAGA People. MAGA People are left alone to take care of polluted rivers, exposure to deadly exhalations from dangerous industrial sites, and deficient public infrastructure. President Trump never even tried to pass an infrastructure bill.
President Trump, a non-politician, has still not put together a plan to fight the COVID-19 attack.
Angela Merkel, a scientist, believes in science and has spared her peopleto very high public approval.
Donald Trump cares only for himself and his familyprovided they have no desire to join the military. (How strange is this?)
President Trump has a very high disapproval rate.
In the meantime, he is corrupting the soul of America; he is corrupting one after another our great public institutions, from the White House to the US Department of Justice.
Immediate dangers are frightening: He is destroying the Republican Party; he is undermining the authority of the electoral process, the foundation on which our democracy rests; he is turning our government into a Fascist autocracy; he is victimizing one after another any one who openly disapproves of him; by inciting innocent vigilantes to protect him, he is dangerously pushing the country to the brink of civil war.
What to Do?
True American patriots will eventually arise among MAGA People, as they did during WWII, to defeat Fascism.
But, why repeat the cycle of mistakes?
There is no time to lose. At the earliest possible convenience, Five Republican Senators must visit Mr. Trump at the White House and respectfully request his resignation from the Office of President of the United States of America. There is no need to recite the litany of reasons for this request: he knows them all very well.
Closing the Circle of Hate
Being a bargainer, Donald Trump will ask what is in it for him. The five Republican Senators can offer him, not pardon, because a pardon would split the country in two. They might want to offer him the opportunity to be part of a procedure established in South Africa under the leadership of President Mandela and Bishop Tutu: the establishment of a Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
President Trump ought to be given the opportunity to explain, in a systematic mode, the ways of his actions and thoughts. He would be receiving full attention from the nation. Being a narcissist, he might like that opportunity.
The establishment of a Truth, Reconciliation, and Restitution Commission for President Trump, and most certainly for many other prominent members of his Administration, might finally break the vicious cycle of hate that seems to have enveloped this country of late. Let us break this cycle with an exercise of deep love.
What Should Precede this Action
A few steps are to be taken before undertaking this severe action. Working either jointly or separately with Democratic Senators, a plan must be developed to assure us all that the Government is indeed going to work for the benefit of everyone everyone including especially the MAGA People who have traditionally been abused by the elites in both parties.
These are the people Donald Trump has been stringing along, with many unkempt promises from the construction of the Wall on the southern border to trade with China to the return of jobs from China.
Five Republican Senators will want to present to the nation, as an initial plan, this three-step proposal to MEND THE FED: 1. The Fed has to issue loans solely for the creation of real wealth; 2. The Fed has to issue loans only to individual entrepreneurs, corporations with Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs) and/or Consumer Stock Ownership Plans (CSOPs), as well as to public agencies with taxing powers; 3. The Fed has to issue loans at cost.
The financial resources of the land will then be redirected from Wall Street to Main Street. If Main Street prospers, Wall Street will eventually prosper properly.
The first person to convince of the validity of this plan is Senator Mitch McConnell, because he should rest assured that, if Russia will no longer invest in Kansas, the Federal Reserve System will be happy to fill the slack.
BTW, if Mr. Putin is serious about fighting the "International Cartels" and lending his powers to stop the exploitation of the masses (We the People), he has an open invitation to join the few of us who are smitten with a Concordian monetary policy.
A Second Step
The second step these five brave Republican Senators might want to advocate for is, not the cancellation of students debts, but the systematic cancellation of all debtsevery seven years.
When a new King or a new Emperor was instaurated, a Debt Jubilee was the seal of allegiance between the ruler and the people.
What a relief from the Coronavirus attacks will this measure be.
Eventual Third and Fourth Steps
In time, many other good things can be done with Concordian economics. As a third step, we might want to create as many private Interdependence Funds as possible. As a fourth step, we might want to create an All-Labor Reward Program, by having housework finally fairly compensated by our government. How much does housework contribute to the national wealth? How much did Steve Jobs' mother contribute to our national welfare?Self-Protection
The allegiance of MAGA People to the five brave Republican Senators is the ultimate protection against foreseeable attacks from Donald Trump, attacks which can be expected to be an avalanche of vile words.
The impenetrable shield that our Five Republican Senators will want to wear is the rhyme: Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.
Are not Senators supposed to have gravitas? They are not supposed to be swept away with the wind of words.
Long Term
Remember the long history of Rome, the history that taught our American Founders this reality: If you please The Emperor, you have to displease many another Senator. Those Senators will come to bite you.
In the process you will destroy the sacredness of the Senate. The sacredness of caring not for your self, not for your party. But the sacredness of caring for the common good.
The safest long term protection that our brave Five Republican Senators will have to wear is the assurance of merits that they will receive from the protection of our democratic Republic.
