Feeling Depressed is an American's Patriotic Duty

Tensions are high in Indonesia as it appeared that a months-long investigation into the $700 million bailout of Bank Century will end without prosecution of the country's finance minister and vice president.....But the real anger is on the streets of Jakarta. Thousands of students, labor members, and other mass organizations rioted outside the House of Representatives yesterday and today. These are the people that ended up paying for the bailout, and the same ones that are rioting in Greece and California....Source: Business Insider

Evidently the people in Indonesia, unlike the people in the United States, still have some sense of outrage.

What are they mad about?

Well they have this strange idea that banks shouldn't be bailed out for making bad business decisions and taking risky investments. Even stranger, the people of Indonesia think that their nation should not be bankrupted by bailing out the banks.

The people of Indonesia should learn to deal with their anger and just become depressed like the people in the United States. Then that would be a win/win for everyone. The banks could go on scamming the country. The politicians could go on being sell-outs to the banks. The drug companies could gain greater profits off more sales of antidepressants. The people could feel better about everything by feeling worse.

Here in the US we are more civilized than the people of Indonesia. We know that depression is a chemical problem in our brains needing lots of prescription drugs, alcohol, entertainment and sports to treat. We know that getting angry is a feeling that is unpatriotic. Anger, in fact, might even make us terrorist suspects.

Americans hate terrorists.

Anger is a very dangerous emotion. It makes people want to do something to deal with it. In the US we have learned that depression is much safer and more patriotic than anger.

Still it may seem that other countries are suspect to getting mad about being bankrupted.

....For the next country to break out in riots, look to Dublin. As Ireland Finance Minister Brian Lenihan considers putting more money into troubled bank AIB, political leaders have warned that such actions would result in "revolution in the streets," according to the Irish Independent.....Source: Business Insider

Just imagine that.

The Irish you know have a temper. They might find themselves getting angry about bankster rip-offs that are nearly destroying their economy. The Irish, like the Indonesians, are an ill-tempered people. The Irish and the Indonesians must somehow be related.

Then, there are also those nasty people of Iceland who got really mad when the whole worldwide bankster scam broke out. They took to the streets and are presently debating whether they should be responsible for an unfair debt that is bankrupting them.

I am an American. As an American, I say that people around the world should become more civilized, like Americans, and learn to just give up.

The people of Indonesia, Ireland, and Iceland, and whatever other country that might still has some sense of outrage are just making themselves all upset for nothing. Americans know there is nothing you can do about anything.

Americans know Depression is the only solution. Depression is our patriotic duty.
