Fascism is staring at us in plain sight promoted by powerful people in leadership positions. Why should we worry?

"Totalitarianism, authoritarianism, and fascism are all forms of government characterized by a strong central rule that attempts to control and direct all aspects of individual life through coercion and repression."

Ordinary Americans who are craving authoritarianism driven by political, social, and economic dissatisfactions should note that authoritarianism, which is a form of fascism, will not improve their lives.

Just Look at how fascist rule plays out exemplified by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Ultimately fascism serves only those in power--and then just a small group of inner-circle power-hungry collaborators. Sometimes, as in the case of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, fascism serves the power-craving of just one person. Not a single individual on this planet is benefitting from the genocidal attack on the people of Ukraine other than Vladimir Putin and his ego. That's what can happen in a dictatorship. Everyone else is vulnerable and disposable. And when fascism turns against the interests, safety, and quality of life of its own citizens (Russia today), the populace sadly discovers that they have no rights to protect them from arbitrary actions including imprisonment and death.

Beware the accelerating march toward fascism in the United States. It's evident in a simple form of arithmetic.

Donald Trump + Statement that if he runs for president and wins in 2024 he will pardon those accused and those convicted of the Jan 6th insurrection = Fascism

50 Republican senators + blocked voting rights bill thus destroying the foundation of democracy = Fascism
