What defines a mystic? Those identified as mystics are people who come from internal experience. They do not rely on the doctrines or philosophy of an organized system, such as a church, government or scientific creed. Because of this mindset, they are often ridiculed.
Thus, Meister Eckhart was excommunicated by the Catholic Church for saying the "power" is within the people he ministered to. You don't say this in the Catholic Church! The man on stage is the one with power! "Don't play with the top-down power structure!" Eckhart was about serving the world through love. The church was about domination and control.
Mystics like true scientists come from an attitude of experience more so than dogma. Of course, you can discount the experience. Likewise, you can discount scientific evidence. The point is, research it.
Let me go into dangerous territory. Lets talk about the anti-Christ. What is that really about? Hold onto your hat. It's not what you think!
Numbers in ancient times were associated with letters. The anti-Christ's number was "666." In ancient cosmology, '666' was identified with the Sun. (If I got into this, this article would be several pages long).
What I am saying about '666' being a solar number makes no sense. If it were not for the Sun, we would not be having this conversation.
