Well, that's at least what he said at some point during this 52-minute, very in-depth and detailed interview Dylan gave for 20/20 in 1985. I actually remember when this was first broadcast and have thought a good deal about it since. But only a few minutes of the interview were shown at the time. What's provided here is the raw, uncut version, complete with audio and visual blackouts. I don't know the name of the interviewer, but he does a remarkable job. And Dylan was, for some reason, in the most... co-operative and forthcoming mode I can remember him ever being in up until that time. An awful lot of territory is covered: fame, fans, his influence on other people, the meaning of some of the songs and just what it's like to have to be Bob Dylan ("How do you think you'll be remembered?" "Oh...I don't know.")
