Speaking from a megaphone before hundreds of thousands in Tahrir Square in central Cairo, Mohamed ElBaradei, (the former Chief U.N. nuclear inspector and Egyptian citizen) said, "We have a key demand for the regime to step down and a new era to start. What we have begun cannot go back."

It seems clear; ElBaradei has become the new face and voice of the opposition for Hosni Mubarak to step down.

ElBaradeis talk was being streamed live by Al Jazerra at approximately 8 PM Cairo time and some four hours into the supposed curfew ordered by Mubarak.

Mubarak was reportedly meeting behind closed doors with his new cabinet apparently trying to determine how he could effectively remain in power and quell the widespread uprising as evident from pictures and reports from all major cities in Egypt.
