John Bolton said about the current concerns regarding Ukraine that it was a drug deal--not 'like' a drug deal rather the real thing.
I think this possibility deserves investigation. We know the flow of opium and heroin out of Afghanistan is at record levels and that this flow of drugs must enter the European market and beyond (the US) through Eastern European states for distribution westward. Ukraine is the best situated of these eastern states because they have had a very corrupt prosecutor and oligarchs who love money from any source.
So, is Bolton literally correct--a drug deal? Have Giuliani and Trump gravitated to their comfort zone of corruption and the smell of money in Ukraine like hyenas to a carcass? Clearly, to make this work, the eyes and ears of a highly connected ambassador to Ukraine must be removed for obvious reasons. It would be great to see the worms squirm if this were meaningfully investigated.
However, returning to earth, the Democratic establishment would rather see Trump reelected than cross the deep state by exposing the CIA as the major mover of illicit drugs around the world and including, of course, out of Afghanistan.
