Campaigning as a non-politician outsider who was not part of the system, Donald Trump has appointed the most inside politics person in the GOP-- Reince Priebus-- the GOP chair. I believe this is the first time, at least the first time in recent history that a party leader was appointed to the Chief of Staff position.
It may be a smart move for Trump, as a way to wield maximum influence with his party. But it will surely put a slant to his presidency and decrease the possibility that Trump will be making policy and decisions outside the box. The GOP could have no higher wish than having the chair the op employee at the White House.
Trump has stated that Steve Bannon will serve as chief strategist and senior counselor. Bannon is another strident far right winger who was the executive chairman of Breitbart News LLC, the parent company of Breitbart News. Trump's closest aides and advisors will be seeing with the same right wing perspective.
It would be nice if he has the smarts and courage enough to bring in Bernie Sanders, who agreed with him on a lot of issues, to get Bernie's perspective.
