As we can clearly see in our U.S. government solution engine, how the selfish heart defines the problem is that I lack power that I want and deserve, and how the knowing mind defines the problem is that others lack faith in my divine infallibility. If we let selfish hearts define the problem, they will turn the solution engine to serve their selfish purpose, and if we let knowing minds define the problem, they will turn the solution engine to propagating their Truth. It is unfortunate that my country's government, those who wield the authority and the responsibility to solve the peoples' problems, are increasingly controlled by selfish hearts and knowing minds -- the corrupt and the incompetent. As I point out in the Hero Engine Solution Cycle -- corrupt and incompetent problem solvers IN equals corrupt and incompetent solutions OUT. In the U.S. government solution engine, the selfish hearts believe the problem is that the wealthy do not have enough wealth and power, and the knowers of the truth believe that science education is attacking God, and that scientists must stop spreading lies and be forced to accept God's Truth.
The selfish hearts and knowing minds are passionately certain that they should be defining the problem, and their attempts to gain control over the solution engine will be relentless, and the more valuable the prize, the more resources that will be devoted to the effort. Frankly, our democratic solution engine is in deep s$%!. Increasingly, there is a filter on the intake that only selfish hearts and knowing minds can pass through, and there are fewer, and fewer hero players in position to help the people solve their problems.
The design of the Hero Engine educational system is my attempt to alter this democratic dynamic. My greatest fear is that selfishness and arrogance will seize control over the Hero Engine, as it has seized control over the government solution engine. I will try to design with this dynamic in mind. This is why this solution engine is OWNED by the student players, and this is why only the most experienced players who have proven themselves upon the field of play as of true intent, and masters of skillful means, will be given the responsibility of Defining the Problem. This judgement will be made by the vetted junior and senior year players who must understand the grave responsibility to choose wisely.
I have just gone live with an Indiegogo campaign attempting to gather an Open Source design team to make this dream a reality. By what process the problems are defined I am going to leave flexible for now. My main concern at this stage is which players are given authority to define the problem, and what path they must take that will test their hearts and train their minds to prepare them for this awesome responsibility. There may be hundreds of millions of lives at stake, and at some point, perhaps even the survival of the human species. No solution mechanism, no matter how well designed, will survive the consequences of being controlled by the corrupt and the incompetent.
This is how I define the problem.
- Because the students would be solving the problems of mankind's most desperate people, they would develop an awareness both broad and deep of the people's most tragic problems, fostering an empathy for those less fortunate that is the foundation of involved citizenship.
- Because the students are working together as a solution team, they would master the knowledge, tools, and skills of the team problem solving process, which would serve their families, their communities, and their employers for their entire lives.
- Because the students are practicing on real problems, they are producing real solutions for those most desperate among us.
- Because these solutions happen on a global stage, the Hero Show may provide financial support for both the educational institutions of the problem solvers, and their solutions.
- Because the Hero Show happens on a global stage, it could inspire replication and cooperation between the students of all nations, creating a united generation of heroes that will reshape our planet and our future.
- Because the students will create powerful solution tools and networks, the hero solution engine will be prepared to deal with devastating and unforeseeable future problems in hero time.
- Because the Hero Solution Engine will flood the population with hero graduates, it will be like bolting a turbocharger to the intake of the democratic solution engine, and accelerate the people into a future of peace and unimaginable prosperity.
