The other day I got a letter from the Democratic National Committee, specifically from Debbie Wasserman Schultz. The main letter is titled "Official 2016 Democratic Election Survey." It is a list of questions Ms. Schultz wants me to respond to, presumably along with every other registered Democrat (I switched from the Justice Party about six months ago just to help send a message that I was interested in Sanders, and encouraged others to do likewise, as well as send money to Bernie).
I'll give four questions from the survey to convey the idea, then present my brief response. I'm hoping a few million, or at least a few thousand, will do likewise (question numbers revised for this brief article).
1) Which elements of the radical Republican agenda are most dangerous to America's future? (Please choose up to three out of about eight, with samples here):
-Opposing a minimum wage increase
-Denying the existence of climate change
-Refusing to handle international affairs diplomatically
2) Which aspect of Donald Trump's and Ted Cruz's candidacies do you find most disturbing?
Basically "yada, yada, yada"
3) Which group of GOP backers do you think will have the biggest impact on the 2016 elections?
More yada, yada, yada
4) Which of the following is the most important Democratic goal in the 2016 elections?
Keeping a Democrat in the White House and yada, yada, yada on important but relatively insignificant items.
Not once is there mention of Sanders, let alone Sanders v. Clinton, or a serious idea for the Democrats to pursue. The letter/survey is a waste of resources and time, except for further showing the disarray and lunacy of what the DNC has become--it is a travesty of anything approaching thought, let alone intelligence. Yet Ms. Schultz ends up asking for donations to keep the DNC insanity going!
I wrote on the top of the survey, which I will return shortly: MOST IMPORTANT! The only thing that matters now is for Ms. Schultz to resign. It will be a good example for Hillary too, then the DNC can win with Sanders and actually do some sensible and helpful things. Daniel Geery w/ phone number
