America, you have exercised your freedom to choose a new leader and that choice is Donald J Trump. You had all the evidence regarding your choices available, you had the freedom to vote your conscience, and this is your collective choice. You are all now responsible for this choice, some more than others. Citizens voting for Trump, voting for a 3rd party, or not voting at all are the reasons Trump was elected. If you fall into any of these three categories, Trump is the leader of America because of you. Congratulations. Now, you will need to deal with that choice.

Firstly, if you didn't vote, or voted for a 3rd party, knowing full well that vote would not count towards a candidate that could win the election, you now have no right to criticize Trump or any of his policies for the next four years. You have no moral authority to criticize someone you willingly, knowingly allowed to gain this position of power. You did not do what was needed to stop him. You had more than enough time and information to make the decision to counter him with a viable vote. You chose not to. Now, lay down in the bed you've made. Maybe you'll reconsider your apathy four years from now. I doubt it though. It doesn't matter, right? Right.

Tell me it doesn't matter when immigration officers start rounding up Hispanic families in your community. Tell me it doesn't matter when Trump deregulates the coal, gas, and oil industries and the air you breathe blackens. Tell me it doesn't matter when construction begins on a wall that will cost the taxpayers billions and do absolutely nothing. Tell me it doesn't matter when your new supreme court nominees remove a woman's right to choose.

Tell me it doesn't matter when Trump gives the Evangelicals the power they will demand for having supported him: gay rights, women's rights, minority rights -all gone. Millions and millions of people are about to be removed from the healthcare system. The drug war is about to get a fresh injection of support, including private prisons, a more militarized police, and longer sentences for minor drug offences. You thought America had a large prison population? Wait till they start to add thirty million unregistered immigrants to their correction system.

Tell me none of this matters, but, if you fall under the categories I mentioned earlier, not yet. You will have to wait another four years before I can listen to a word you have to say.
