Howard Dean got a ton of credit for being the anti-war candidate. I never thought he deserved it. Dean's position on invading Iraq was that Bush should give Saddam sixty days to comply with all UN resolutions and, if he didn't comply, we should attack Iraq with US troops. Iraq was a sovereign nation and the US never had a right to invade it. The UN did not authorize the US invasion. Dean's position was wrong and it most certainly was not "anti-war." But, somehow, among tone deaf Democrats, he was the anti-war candidate.
