Vaccines have been touted to be more protective than natural immunity.
But this is not what the latest research shows. Natural immunity provides protection from reinfection and against serious outcomes that is virtually indistinguishable from vaccinated immunity. There are many sources of this information now, but Dr. John Campbell explains it well.
Given this information, there is no scientific reason for universal vaccine mandates now.
At most, requiring positive antibody tests or previous positive PCR tests should be enough to allow people to resume all activity currently restricted by requiring vaccination.
Will this happen in today's hyper-polarized, virtue-signaling world? I doubt it. And so, the country will continue to fracture, with republican anti-vaxers regaining control and shunning all kinds of long-known scientifically valid things, like immunizations in general, until so many of them and their innocent children die that science-based leaders are elected again. That is, if we're even holding elections by then. I give that less than a 50% chance of coming true, with the beginning of the end of democracy coming as soon as this fall's elections about 50% likely.
America has had nearly 900,000 Covid related deaths as of the date of this writing and is on track to hit 1 million by mid-March.
Here are a couple of studies showing a strong and growing correlation between TRump supporting people and Covid deaths: 1 academic: Death by political party: The relationship between COVID"19 deaths and political party affiliation in the United States and 1 mass media: COVID Kills Three to Six Times More Republicans According to NPR Study
According to the second one:
To make matters worse, studies have now shown misinformation absorbed specifically by Republicans, has resulted in an additional three times or higher death rate within their demographic.
"Counties that voted overwhelmingly for Trump tallied nearly triple the death rate of blue-state counterparts due to COVID "misinformation," says NPR.
COVID-related American death data shows dramatic differences between Republican and Democratic counties, with the reddest tenth of the nation in October chalking up a death rate six times higher than that of the bluest tenth.
"The study found that the higher the vote share for Trump, the lower the vaccination rate."
Republicans are now the largest single demographic group of the unvaccinated in America, NPR reported. Being unvaccinated dramatically increases the risk of death from COVID-19, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
