This is an interesting topic for those interested in spirituality (note I'm not speaking of religious belief systems per se) in relationship to science. Of course, this has its critiques. But, who doesn't?

At the end, for those interested, I am providing a URL leading you to the work of physicist John Hagelin who speaks to Consciousness as the unified field state.

Interesting idea. Perhaps we are not living in a dead universe, after all?

I wanted to share the following because I do believe it speaks to a more bottom-up approach to the universe. In short, nothing is separate from anything else as reflected in the term universe, composed of uni (united) and verse (many), which in the US motto is E Pluribus Unim, "In the Many One."

This speaks more to a God/Goddess that is everywhere and not necessarily above us in another dimension. As the mathematician Rudy Rucker states in his Fourth Dimension: A Higher Guide of the Higher Universes:

Mind is everywhere and you have no mind at all.

I disagree with the latter portion of his statement in that it appears he is saying we have no mind. This is not true. Our mind is a manifestation of the cosmic mind. Thus a fetus builds his or her own body via a networking of the parts that dictates who becomes the cell of a liver or a kidney. (Yes, every cell is holographic and contains knowledge for making a full human being as reflected in the notion of cloning).

Take all this as you will. Debate it, research it and kick it around in terms of its implications. My question is: If mind is everywhere, why are we living in a top-down pyramidal structure? How does this affect how we see Nature? Are we hairless monkeys truly the cat's meow of evolutionary development?
