Jesus warns readers of the Bible that bringing harm to God's children is equivalent to bringing harm to the Lord Himself. "Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me." Matthew 25:40 [1]

The warning tale Jesus relates in the Gospel according to Mathew 28:40, transcribed in modern application for Americans might read:
'And the Lord gathered his flock around him as a shepherd does, with the goats on one side and the sheep on the other. Turning to those on His left side the Lord said, 'You miserable people are going to Hell, because you bombed and shot me. And a cry arose from those Jesus had addressed, 'But Lord, when were you ever bombed or shot?'

(At Christmas season 2015, one might imagine Jesus answering:)
'Do you think those you are bombing to death in Yemen and still bombing and shooting to death in Afghanistan, Somalia, Iraq, Libya and Syria are not my children? Then who, pray tell, do your think they are? "Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me." 'Do you pathetically imagine that I, like most of you, could have possibly forgotten Christmases past when you bombed, shot and tortured the children of God in Korea, Greece, Congo, Iran, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Panama, and so many of my children throughout Latin America? "You know the commandments: you must not kill" Mark 10.18

Americans shoot an Afghan, Iraqi, Pakistani, Libyan, Yemeni, Somalian, Bang! Boom! Simultaneously, there goes Jesus, shot down again at the same time, for in Matthew 25:40: Jesus says, "Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me."

This principle of a common humanity is basic to the Nuremberg Principles of International Law, written to prosecute anyone, who would ever do what the Nazis,
then being prosecuted, did, which included bombing, invading and occupying innocent nations as Christian Americans have done since end of World War Two.

Actually, Jesus' teaching is bare boned simple, isn't it. So if an American Christian GI, inadvertently caught up seeking to help protect and maintain his nation's wealthy investors' predatory interests, can't recognize Jesus' brother in the face of the Muslim, or in earlier times, in the face of a Korean, Laotian, Cambodian, Iraqi, Dominican, Panamanian, Grenadian, he is ordered to kill, it must be the fault of the GI's minister or priest.

Your peoples historian would like to suggest that most of those GIs pulling the trigger or pressing the button on a brother or sister or child of Jesus, have not so much forgotten what they learned in church, but rather were not instructed in what Jesus taught. Clergy in the USA, with few exceptions is in tune with a militarized North America, and has for decades avoided mentioning Jesus' teaching regarding even hurting someone, let alone taking someone's life. Scripture is twisted to sanctify ' just wars,' as organized clergy blesses the troops shipping out and blesses the bodies of those brought home as corpses. Your author, brought up Catholic, and having performed as a musician during hundreds of services in Protestant denomination churches in many parts of the US, has sadly been witness to the above mentioned reconfiguring of Jesus' teaching in churches founded in His name. Also, very common, is focusing on stories from the Old Testament, which avoids dealing with the message of Jesus, the revolutionary.

Martin Luther King Jr.' own Baptist churches never supported King's condemnation of US wars for "unjust overseas predatory investments," and have been cooperating silently with war promoting mainstream media's forty-nine year blackout and taboo of any mention of King's world shaking sermons "Beyond Vietnam - a Time to Break Silence" and "Why I am Against the War in Vietnam." [2][3]

Merry Christmas from an America that Kills Jesus Daily Multiple Times in so many different beloved countries, as often as not, right in homes of Jesus' brethren.

Full text of Matthew 25:31-43 [Biblegateway.com]
"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit upon his glorious throne, and all the nations will be assembled before him. And he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
Then the king will say to those on his right, "Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.'
Then the righteous will answer him and say, "Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?'
And the king will say to them in reply, "Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.'
Then he will say to those on his left, "Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, A stranger and you gave me no welcome, naked and you gave me no clothing, ill and in prison, and you did not care for me.'
