Germs are all around us. Kitchen counters that look clean may in fact be teeming with bacteria. When someone is ill in your household, the threat from germs becomes even greater.

Try these ideas at home, remember these points:

1]Always wash your hands:

a] Before eating, dressing a wound, giving medicine, or inserting contact lenses.

b] Before, during and after handling or preparing food.

c] After contact with body fluids. after changing a diaper, after using the bathroom, and after touching something that could be contaminated with germs. Wash more often when someone in your home is sick.

d] After handling animals or their toys, leash or waste.

2] Routinely clean and disinfect surfaces, especially in the bathroom and kitchen. Clean and disinfect counters and other surfaces before, during and after preparing food. For best results, use a paper towel or a disposable sanitizing wipe.

Parmesan Popcorn
2T extra -virgin olive oil
½ cup unpoped popcorn kernels
1/3rd cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
1/8th tsp ground back pepper

Heat the oil in a large, heavy pan over medium to high heat. Add 3 popcorn kernels.
When the kernels pop, add the remaining ½ cup of kernels. Cook, shaking the pan occasionally, for about 2to 3 minutes or until the popping slows. Remove the pan from the heat and pour into a large bowl or freezer bag. Sprinkle the parmesan cheese and pepper over the popcorn and shake to coat evenly.
Serves 6.
