Wednesday night over 3500 simultaneous gatherings of Bernie Sanders supporters had over 100,000 people RSVPing. That's the biggest campaign event, by far for the 2016 presidential elections. Hillary Clinton, saw about 650 gatherings when she held a similar event.

All the attendees were asked to text the word "work" to 82623, and asked to get three other people to do the same. Sending the text yields a link to a volunteer sign-up page.
I attended a gathering hosted by college student Brandon Greenstein, in Huntingdon Valley Pa, near Philly, where over 90 people had RSVPed. The gathering included people of all ages, about an even mix of men and women.
Time magazine reported some of the elements of Sander's talk to the 3500 gatherings:
""Tonight is a historical night and all of us are making history," Sanders said at the event, reading his notes from a music stand. "Why are we seeing spontaneous uprisings if you like and meetings in cities and town all over this country? My answer is the American people are saying loudly and clearly, enough is enough."
Throughout the talk, Sanders would cite a problem, then say, "enough is enough." It could be the beginning of a campaign slogan.

The Time Magazine article also reported:

"Bernie Sanders alone as president of these United States is not going to solve all these problems," Sanders said. "The only way we take on the Koch brothers and take on the billionaire class, and people who have unbelievable money and power, the only we can do that is when we put together a strong grassroots movement of millions and millions of people."

"And that is what I mean by political revolution, and that is what you are involved in today," he added, looking into the camera.

The vast number of parties made for an eclectic mix. One screening party held in Asheville, North Carolina, featured three punk rock bands that helped fundraise for Sanders afterward. Another in Texas was called "Brisket and biscuits for Bernie," in honor of the food that was served. One event was hosted in a town in the Alaskan wilderness of about 1,000 residents. At another party, a guest brought four live chickens

Word is, the massive response to the campaign over the past few weeks has hit the campaign headquarters like a nuclear bomb, as the campaign scales up to meet the opportunity the response has brought. Currently, Sanders has about 50 staffers, compared to Hillary's 500.
At the event I attended almost all the people pulled out their smart phones and sent the text. With that kind of response, the Sanders campaign could easily have hundreds of thousands of volunteers soon (assuming the 100,000 recruit three people each.
Time reports that after the event, one of the organizers gave Bernie a quote from Ghandi, which Sanders read, "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, and then you win,'" "Maybe that is what this campaign is about," Time reports Sanders said.

If you attended one of the gatherings, tell us a bit about it in the comments.
