Hillary Clinton has been pilloried by her critics for not providing adequate security for the U.S. consulate in Benghazi that resulted in the deaths of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three C.I.A. agents on the night of September 11, 2012. Her real crime was the project of regime change in Libya that resulted in thousands of civilian deaths, the destruction of the country with over 5,800 bombing sorties and 309 cruise missiles fired, causing a once prosperous Libya to become a failed state that has resulted in misery for millions of Libyans.
Hillary Clinton is largely responsible for the planning of a similar regime change in Syria, using the same plot that was used in Libya. It has resulted in the destruction of Syria too, and the deaths of hundreds-of-thousands of people and turned millions of people into refugees. She should have been investigated for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Instead the Congressional Committee to investigate Benghazi was turned into a "Hillary infomercial".
The death of Ambassador Stevens and the political fallout for Hillary Clinton has provided the textbook on how the U.S. uses C.I.A. operations to fund secret wars of aggressive regime change and install compliant puppet governments. The Obama administration deceived the public and the United Nations that a "humanitarian crisis" existed in Libya and that the Libyan people needed protection from "genocide". The reality was that Hillary Clinton was in charge of a U.S. project to use the "Libyan Arab Spring" uprising to fund terrorist groups to overthrow and assassinate Gaddafi, and then to replace him with a government that was hand-picked by the U.S.
When the news burst onto the scene of Ambassador Stevens death, the Obama administration was left scrambling for a cover story. At first it was blamed on an angry mob of Muslims who were incensed over the release of a movie trailer call The Innocence of Muslims created by a shady character named Sam Bacile.
As new facts about the Benghazi attack started leaking out, the Obama administration was forced to change their cover story several times. The final cover story is that the attack was planned in advance and carried out by an al-Qaeda-type terrorist group. The hole in the story is that Hillary failed to provide adequate security to the U.S. consulate. Instead the U.S. consulate was involved in a high risk project of funding terrorists and mercenaries, and the attack was blowback.
What the Obama administration failed to explain is that Ambassador Steven was running a C.I.A. operation out of the consulate in Benghazi, that at least 25 C.I.A. agents from its paramilitary group were operating a network of Islamic militias out of the C.I.A. station in Benghazi, that the C.I.A. was involved in the rebellion against Gaddafi, and that the attack on the C.I.A. outpost was blowback from the C.I.A.'s own operations.
The Obama administration tried to hide the fact that the
three other Americans killed in the attack were C.I.A. agents. We know this because when it was finally
revealed, the director of the C.I.A. David Petraeus was criticized in the press
for not attending their funerals. As proof
of the intentional cover-up the reason that Petraeus gave to the press,
according to the Wall
Street Journal , was the excuse that "he stayed away [from the funerals] in
an effort to conceal the agency's role in collecting intelligence and providing
security in Benghazi". The names of the
agents killed are Glen Doherty, Tyrone Woods and Sean Smith. Mr. Doherty and Mr. Woods were both former
Navy Seals, and Sean Smith was a career Foreign Service Officer.
Further, a Reuters report November 2, 2012 " The
Battle over Benghazi " by Jack Shafer revealed: "The U.S. effort in Benghazi was at its heart a CIA operation,
according to officials briefed on the intelligence. Of the more than 30
American officials evacuated from Benghazi following the deadly assault, only
seven worked for the State Department. Nearly all the rest worked for the CIA,
under diplomatic cover, which was a principle purpose of the consulate, these
officials said."
The reasons given by the "un-named reliable
source" to Reuters for having such a large CIA station in Benghazi is
that: "The CIA was chasing terrorists,
as well as shoulder-fired missiles and other military gear liberated from
Libyan Army arsenals." The
supposed terrorist group that the CIA was chasing, and that was responsible for
the Benghazi attack was an "al-Qaeda
regional offshoot known as Ansar al- Shariah".
Twenty-five CIA agents, if used as force multipliers can support a paramilitary group of hundreds of fighters. From the information known that was the C.I.A. mission. We know this because one of the excuses for why it took so long for the other C.I.A. agents to come to the rescue of Ambassador Stevens was that the other C.I.A. agents "needed time to roundup their militia groups".
The C.I.A. operation is what the Congress should have
investigated Hillary Clinton for instead of the "lack of security", especially
since the Obama administration had promised
the American people and the U.N. that "no American boots would be on the
ground". Furthermore, Hillary Clinton
and the C.I.A. operation of regime change became the blueprint for the
attempted illegal overthrow of Bashar al-Assad of Syria. These types of covert illegal invasions by
the U.S. have become more blatant since it was used in Afghanistan to trap the
Soviet Union for payback
of the U.S. quagmire in Vietnam.
The United Nations authorized a "no-fly" zone for Libya that was led
by a coalition put together by the U.S.
The Obama administration promised that there would be no "boots on
the ground". Instead he acted
without authorization from Congress and Obama
deceived the American people. The bizarre
movie trailer of the "Innocence of Muslims" remains a mystery, but President
Obama did seem to protest too much in his U.N.
speech that it was not sponsored by the U.S. government.
The C.I.A. hijacked the "Libyan Arab Spring", fomented the Libyan revolution
with CIA boots on the ground, aided rebel groups that the U.S. favored and
armed them, perhaps even with shoulder-fired Stinger-type anti-aircraft
missiles to shoot down Libyan planes. One mission of the CIA in Libya after the
overthrow of Gaddafi was to roundup Stinger-type missiles and other weapons.
Seymour Hersh reported that Christopher Stevens and the C.I.A. was using the captured and recovered weapons to organizing a "rat line" to ship them to Syrian rebels to overthrow Bashar al-Assad's government. According to Frederick Reese : "Since the beginning of the Libyan Revolution, eastern Libya and Benghazi have been key staging grounds for American intelligence efforts, with the U.S. State Department and CIA personnel deployed there. Counter-terrorism operators from Delta Force, the U.S. Army's 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment -- Delta, were also placed there."
The United Nations never defined what the rules of engagement would be for a so-called "no-fly zone". That left the U.S. and its coalition the ability to make up the rules. What resulted was an air war by the U.S. led coalition against Gadhafi's Libya, with over 300 Tomahawk cruise missiles fired as well as over 5,800 aerial bombardments sorties. The "shock and awe" against Tripoli, Misrata, Sirte, Zintan, Mizdah and other major cities lasted for months, resulting in many civilians killed, wounded and displaced by the chaos.
