When we as Americans think of terrorism, normally what comes to mind are groups such as Al Qaeda. But, for the youngest of our citizens meaning children terrorism resides within our communities and at times within our families. The terrorism I am speaking of is pedophilia and where the scars will last a lifetime. It is an ‘issue’ that I have been dealing with since the late ‘90s and have even written of it on my blog.
As I watched the Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC tonight she ran a scurrilous commercial coming from the McCain campaign targeting Senator Barack Obama. That ad blasted him for wishing to teach age appropriate sex education which included kindergarteners. By the way, this bill never passed and it could have aided our children thereby protecting them from pedophiles.
I invite all of you to watch this disgraceful ad and then condemn the McCain/Palin ticket for even running it. Every parent within this nation should shun them for running this despicable ad.
Back in July of 2007, Digital Journal reported of Obama’s speech before Planned Parenthood. Where you will read, “The Senator later clarified further that his emphasis was to inform children so they would be less likely to succumb to predators. Some cited “good touch, bad touch” programs as an example.” Also reported was where parent would be given the freedom to opt out of this program.
On July 19th, 2007, Outside the Beltway reported, “In addition to local schools informing kindergarteners that babies do not come from the stork, the state legislation Obama supported in Illinois, which contained an “opt out” provision for parents, also envisioned teaching kindergarteners about “inappropriate touching,” according to Obama’s presidential campaign. Despite Obama’s support, the legislation was not enacted.” I believe that this piece of legislation could have been a powerful tool to help kindergarteners. I credit Obama with at least trying to help protect the children of his state.
On Jul 20, 2007 this story was picked up by MediaMatters.org in an article: MSNBC's Carlson claimed Obama's sex-ed policy provides "powerful fodder to deride him" In this article you will clearly read which discredits the anti-Obama ad that the “The Daily Herald article quoted Obama saying, "Nobody's suggesting that kindergartners are going to be getting information about sex in the way that we think about it." That quote there shoots down McCain’s blasphemous ad. It went onto say, “the sex education legislation Obama sponsored in the Illinois Senate supported… "envisioned teaching kindergarteners about 'inappropriate touching.' " Well Mr. Bowtie Man, Tucker Carlson should have read the legislation in full since he too has children instead of attacking Senator Obama who has two young children himself.
According to this site and you will read with horror, “In 2002, for example, California could not account for 33,000 sex offenders, or approximately 45% of the 76,000 who registered with the state at least once—rapists and child molesters who vanished after registering. That’s approximately 20% over the current estimated national average of sex offenders who have failed to comply with state registration requirements.” Think about that: 33,000 child sex offenders roaming free and these are the terrorists that Barack Obama tried to deal with as a senator in Illinois.
In this piece written by me in July of 2006, I wrote of two cases in Florida in which two children were murdered after being raped by the offender. There was also another case in Iowa where another child was murdered at the hands of a predator.
In August of 2006, I wrote an article where a child was found dead at the hands of a sex offender. I reported, “An 11-year-old boy missing since last week was found slain early Monday on a golf course near his home, and a twice-convicted child sex offender was arrested in his death, police said.”
Getting back to where many victims of pedophilia do know their predator, please pay close attention to this item also included in the above piece, “Col. Fred Bealefeld, the department's chief of detectives, said there was “every indication" that Irvin's mother knew about Jones' 2002 conviction for having sex with a teenage boy.” So, what was this mother thinking in befriending this sex offender knowing how he had harmed young children?”
By the way the pedophile who murdered that 11 year-old boy served seven months for his 1989 charge and one year for his 2002 charge.
So as Sarah Palin retells her lies while out campaigning: Here is concrete proof of how Senator Barack Obama indeed tried to help the youngest amongst us, namely our children. Children do need to know what is good touch vs. bad touch through our schools if it is not being taught by their parents.
For the Rovean team to conjure up that ad is inexcusable. According to Rachel Maddow, Karl Rove does have ties to the McCain campaign.
Senator Obama should be commended for at least trying to help the most innocent amongst us. Think of that the next time you read a story in any newspaper where a child has been molested, raped and at times murdered. He was looking out for them and their welfare. Pedophiles are indeed the terrorists that reside within our borders.
