Before you say "boys will be boys," please answer these questions.
As a seventeen year old, did you:With a friend, hold down a girl in an attempt to take advantage of her sexually?
Cover her mouth so she couldn't scream for help?
Did you include in you high school yearbook, mention of a girl (Renate) that was horribly mean and scandalous?
My guess that only a tiny fraction of a percent can answer yes to these three questions.
We don't have confirmation that Brett Kavanaugh did the first two. And, given Kavanaugh's yearbook entries, it would be nice to understand the code words, which I would guess would make him look even worse.
But my point is, using the excuse that boys will be boys does not apply to the behaviors Kavanaugh is accused of. I've had a few conversations with right wingers who support Kavanaugh's appointment. And when I bring these issues up it shuts them up. They never did anything like that and agree that it's unacceptable.
And i'm not even going to start with Kavanaugh's claim that he was a virgin into college. That would seem to be reason enough to reject his nomination. Oops. I did start. Well,
