As Democracy Disappears, Obama Plays Basketball

We continue to see newly elected Governors, owned and operated by the Koch brothers, dismantle their states' heretofore functioning democracies into more fascist ones.

They are all using the "financial crisis" as grounds for stripping the working class of the protections under their collective bargaining contracts. All have -- prior to crying "crisis!" -- cut taxes for business and the wealthy, thus eliminating funds  state treasuries require in order to pay off their debts. However, in cutting taxes for the wealthy they have actually created a greater debt. They are now looking to the working class to make up the difference by lowering their wages which, in reality, lessens the amount to be paid to the state treasury.

To further cut avenues for paying off the debt several turned down federal grants that would provide jobs, which would result in additional taxes paid to state treasuries. Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker turned away thousands of jobs -- jobs that would have contributed millions of dollars to the state treasury every year those jobs existed. So, it appears the "financial crisis" wasn't intended to be cured with revenue.

If money was the objective, it might be that "Walker, College Drop-out" is not the person for the job. Even an average Wisconsin second-grader knows if you eliminate your income, your debts will only grow. Thus, giving Walker credit we  can only surmise he is a liar, or deceiver (we know he is unethical as he violated laws in his attempt to be elected to student president while in college -- he was caught and lost), as his goal is not economic, but in gaining more control over the people. This is not a democracy, but more a fascist dictatorship and is un-American.

He now has come out with his real intent from the start, to break the collective bargaining units of the public employees, but only those he chooses to break.  He did not involve the state troopers, firefighters, and police as those units campaigned for him in his run for the Governorship. So, I would surmise this has not been economic from the beginning as those three units have richer benefits agreements than the others, thus they cost more.

There is definitely an overthrow of democracy going on in Wisconsin, Michigan, Florida, Ohio, and several other states,    and the question must be asked, "Where is Obama -- playing basketball?

One would think if individual states are not complying with the U.S. Constitution, it should be the responsibility of the federal government to intercede. By not doing so sends the message that the federal government condones such a take-over and, if that coup is successful, we will have individual states functioning as dictatorships while the federal government functions under a different form of governance. Even to my humble amount of intelligence this appears to not make for a harmonious relationship. In fact, we have illegally invaded countries who have not been functioning under a democracy; yet it appears we sit back in a vacuum while democracy is being stripped from our own states.

I am not advocating illegally invading these states, but where is the federal government in defense of the working citizens who are being betrayed? There is absolutely nothing even being said about such undemocratic actions taking place. Our nation's future is being decimated as all of these states have stripping education in their plans. Education is our only future if the agenda is to grow our nation within a "global" context.

The Department of Education provides statistics of the United States' ranking in comparison of other countries educational systems in four areas: mathematics, reading, science, and problem solving. Following are the rankings even before all of the cuts being proposed by these traitor governors:

Mathematics -- The United States ranks 25th out of the 30 Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and is well below the average score.

Reading -- The United States ranks 16th out of the 30 OECD countries and barely beat the average score (by 1 point).

Science -- The United States ranks 20th out of the 30 OECD countries and is well below the average score.

Problem Solving -- The United States ranks 25th out of the 30 OECD counties and is well below the average score.

In comparison to previous years, the United States is making improvements at home. However, compared to the rest of the world, we are losing ground as we continue to cut education needs while adding military and defense needs.

As long as Obama and his administration continue to allow these take-overs in the states, our nation teeters on the brink of collapse, economically, morally, ethically, and politically.
