An Exonerated Doggerel - Poem

By       (Page 1 of 1 pages)   No comments
why get behind imprisoned minds?
free your mind from incarcerated highs
free your body from the bread line
no dandelion wine celebration
or weathered, knotty book spines
with sickness dusted white, invasive
fuss and fight the day's caste, brave the cold
fight or flight coming any day, truth be told

babylon is calling
but, it is she who has fallen
an amalgamation of Pol Pot and Stalin
no one is ballin' or flossin'
bullshit bit players extolling
people are just trying to keep the ball rolling
love is all knowing
ego, that's the illusion,
sit and spin in wantonness -
where to even begin?

craving is suffering,
and the source of craving is within the self
the origin is hidden on a cluttered shelf
it all creeps stealth
cramping mental health
people near the crevasse edge, the precipice
only fear their wealth and
mental elves swell to eat themselves
in a military industrial complex forged in hell

I can hear the rivets popping out of the Liberty Bell

dwell on it, the pen was mightier than the sword
until we fell on it, impaled
by that accord, it pales in comparison,
when everyone is a terrorist,
dodging hidden tariffs

ignorant pride doesn't get embarrassed
not while it's mirror, mirror, who's the fairest?
in a concrete carapace

Much like politicians pandering, I am an enigma. Solving only my own puzzle. Maybe?
