instruments. If a nation has poor health facilities and its citizens are
faced with various problems in homeland it would hinder the progress of
that nation-state. Thus, it is very important for the policy makers to
focus on the welfare of masses as population is an element of national
power and speaks about volume of progress taking place in Afghanistan.
Unavailability of modern health facilities in private and
government-owned hospitals as well poor education system, lack of
schools, colleges and universities are pushing the country towards
backwardness as compare to the neighboring states.
Afghans are going to Pakistan, India, Iran and other countries for
medical treatment as the government till date failed to equip the
hospitals with modern day machinery and recruit skilled doctors. The
number of those patients seeking treatment in foreign countries are
increasing day by day while the government still to come forth with
concrete policy, addressing the issue on priority basis.
In addition to that the government is also giving way to outflow of
money unwillingly or unconsciously, which would prove harmful in coming
days as Afghanistan will need sufficient amount to fuel developmental
projects initiated recently or for schemes which are on cards.
Therefore, it should be the priority of the government to build state of
the art hospitals across the country to provide best health facilities
to the masses at their doorsteps. Lack of pharmaceutical industries in
the country is not less than a big hurdle in this regard. There is not a
single pharmaceutical company in Afghanistan to manufacture quality
medicines and meet the demand. This also indicated that how our
government failed to pay attention towards health sector and increase
the national power, as population is a vital element of a sovereign
state and best indicator to measure a power of nation state but to an
apathy the poor policies of the public health ministry made it easy for
our rivals to gauge our power and tell how much efforts we need to
compete with them when it comes to our national power.
Moreover, Healthy and educated public can take part in various uplift
schemes to pave way towards prosperity. Education sector in Afghanistan
also show a gloomy picture and need die hard and dedicated efforts on
the part of government to pull out the current and next generation from
darkness and equip them with modern education in the field of natural
and human sciences.
Ignoring the population factor would prove a catastrophic for the
present and coming governments as this very element is essential and
important to make Afghanistan prosperous.
