ACLU and LWV Facilitating Rape of Women in U.S. Prisons

While mass media continues its celebration of all things transgender, the public remains largely unaware of the change in government policy in 48 states, which allows transgenders to keep their male genitalia and be housed in women's prisons, as well as have access to former 'women-only' spaces such as bathrooms/locker rooms and women's shelters, etc. As one government policy guide, from Washington State, clearly states, "A person does not need to have had surgery or otherwise have undergone medical treatment in order to be considered transgendered, or to be protected under the Law Against Discrimination"- (Click Here ) For women in prison this change in transgender policy has been unbearably horrifying because, as they've had to witness first hand, any man, regardless of past convictions of rape or other violent crimes, can be housed in female prisons simply by claiming to be transgender and they get keep their male genitalia intact.

In direct contradiction with their commitment to "defend the rights of women and girls," as of May 2022, the ACLU officially stated in a California court that violent male sex-offenders should also be allowed to claim transgender status and housed in the women's prisons. As reported by Reduxx, "In the brief, the ACLU argues that so long as females who are convicted of crimes against women are allowed to be housed in women's prisons, there is no basis to prevent males with similar convictions from entry." Click Here This and many other legal actions taken by the ACLU throughout the entire U.S. to forcibly house women with violent convicted rapists in prison is inhumane. The ACLU is facilitating nationwide rape of women in prison and this is a crime against humanity.

Naturally, male sex-offenders are taking advantage of this and it should come as no surprise that, as the data from the U.S. Bureau of Prisons released in Dec 2021 showed, almost 50% of males identifying as transgender "women" were convicted sex-offenders, while only 11% of the non-transgender males were convicted sex-offenders: Click Here And that number has certainly increased since then.

In Washington State, Sovereign Women Speak has maintained direct contact with many women in prison who are experiencing a drastic increase in sexual assaults by male prisoners in women's prisons. Instead of doing something to stop this, however, Washington State legislators opted to cover it up by making it impossible for the public to look into it. Despite the protest of Sovereign Women Speak and many others, on 30 March 2022, Washington State passed- SB-1956 -which prevents the public from having access to data on the numbers of "transgender" persons-with-intact-male-genitalia currently residing in the women's prisons. Click Here Activists from 'Keep Prisons Single Sex' and the 'Women's Liberation Front' pointed out that SB-1956 serves to "hide from the public the fact that there are male prisoners, including murderers and sex offenders, being housed in the women's prison in Washington State." thus distorting the sexual assaults of female prisoners committed by male prisoners as being committed by "women" prisoners instead: Click Here

This SB-1956 legislation is actively protecting and quite literally rewarding violent male sex offenders with access to more victims. And yet, the number of groups supporting this legislation under the guise of "protecting human rights" is truly shocking: Click Here

In my naivete, I asked the National Organization of Women (NOW) and the League of Women Voters (LWV) to help these women being raped in prison by male prisoners, but no one responded. So I wrote one more time, this time asking them to "stop marginalizing rape victims in women's prisons" and I got one very ugly response from a president of the Seattle LWV who reprimanded me for my "harmful messaging." Her callous disregard of women being forcibly housed with violent male sex-offenders in prison is something I will never be able to forget nor comprehend. To my mind, the League of Women Voters and the ACLU are facilitating rape of women in prison, and I challenge anybody to read the email exchange I had with the Seattle LWV president and not come to the same conclusion.

Below is the entire ugly email exchange (you be the judge):

Stop marginalizing rape victims in women's prisons

Dear President of Seattle League of Women Voters,

Please stop marginalizing the voices of incarcerated women who are being forcibly housed with violent male criminals in Washington state prisons!!!

One of the most fundamental basic human rights for all human beings is freedom from rape and sexual assault or grooming. This basic human right, however, is being violated in women's prisons in Washington State and no one from the League of Women Voters is giving them any kind of support.

More and more women are being raped in profit-driven prisons, not because of transgenders but because of men who are not transgenders who are taking advantage of the new "gender identity" laws that allow men to keep their male genitalia and claim "female" status to gain access to women-only spaces such as locker-rooms, women's shelters and women's prisons.

Most importantly, these new "gender identity" laws put no restrictions on males with past convictions of rape and violent crimes to claim "female" status and thus gain access to vulnerable women in the prisons and shelters. This refusal to differentiate between genuine transgenders and opportunistic predators is putting more incarcerated women at risk of sexual harassment and rape who are unable to file a report for fear of being name-called a transphobe and risk further punishment in the prison system.

Instead of restricting violent male predators from inclusion in "gender identity" protection laws, WA state governor Inslee chose to pass HB 1956 which restricts public access to any data on males in women's prisons. This is inhumane and cannot be allowed to stand.

Surely, this cannot be the goal of "inclusion" in anyone's most basic idea of human rights for all, let alone the League of Women Voters?
